Job Description

CyberShield Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our elite security team in San Francisco. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security systems that protect our clients' critical infrastructure and sensitive data. In this role, you will work at the intersection of offensive and defensive security, collaborating with cross-functional teams to proactively identify vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, and architect security solutions that scale with modern enterprise environments. This is a high-impact position where your work directly defends against sophisticated nation-state actors, ransomware groups, and advanced persistent threats targeting Fortune 500 companies.

Responsibilities

Lead penetration testing engagements and red team exercises against client environments Design and implement security architectures for on-premise and cloud infrastructure Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM platforms (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel) Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analysis across the attack surface Develop and maintain security policies, playbooks, and incident response plans Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps) Investigate security incidents and perform forensic analysis Produce detailed technical reports with actionable remediation guidance Mentor junior security analysts and engineers Stay current with emerging threats, CVEs, and security research

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering or a related role Industry certifications: CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or equivalent strongly preferred Deep knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems, and endpoint protection Proficiency with penetration testing tools: Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and NIST guidelines Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and tooling Experience with threat intelligence platforms and incident response procedures Excellent communication skills — ability to present findings to both technical and executive audiences
